Chester Talalaj, 89, of New Britain passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013. He was born in New Britain, son of the late Felix and Stella (Mazanski) Talalaj. He was a lifelong resident of New Britain and a member of Sacred Heart Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served his country honorably in Europe during World War II. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Hillyer College (University of Hartford) in 1950. Chester was employed as a Methods and Manufacturing Engineer at Union Mfg and Cushman Industries prior to his retirement. Chester is survived by his brother and sisters Anna Talalaj, Florence Wysocki (Joseph) of Meriden, Teresa Kask, Henry Talalaj (Bertha) and Helen Talalaj all of New Britain. He is also survived by his nieces, Christine Riccio (William), Nancy Leva (John), Linda Jalbert (Marcel) and nephews Gregory Wysocki, Thomas Talalaj, Stephen Talalaj (Helen) and James Kask (Donna). The family wishes to extend their sincere thank you to the Respiratory Care Unit at the Hospital for Special Care including the Respiratory Therapists, Nurses and CNA's, especially Nancy Schulze and Rita Bonczek.

His funeral service will begin on Wednesday, April 17th, at 9:30 a.m. at the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. He will be laid to rest with military honors in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Burritt Hill.
