COMMUNITY SHRED-IT EVENT

Oct 7, 2023 10:00 AM to Oct 7, 2023 03:00 PM

  • Event Details

Shred-it and Duksa Family Funeral Homes are once again joining forces to help combat identity theft by hosting a Community Shred-it event at each of our locations.

This is a rain or shine event.

*Drop and Go Option, Newington Only*

We will again be offering an option in Newington to drop your documents off and be on your way. Our staff will watch all documents that are dropped off get shredded before the truck leaves our premises.

This option, "Drop and Go", will be held at the Masonic Temple parking lot directly across from the funeral home on Walsh Avenue.

The Shred-it mobile truck and option to watch your documents get shredded before you leave will again be held in our funeral home parking lot.

  • Helpful Tips

It is suggested that you bring your documents in paper bags. Plastic bags and cardboard boxes cannot be shredded, and therefore will require more time.

You do not need to remove staples or paper clips prior to shredding.

We are not implementing a strict limit on the number of documents per car, but ask that you please be mindful of all the other cars hoping to get in and out in reasonable time. A suggested limit to consider would be 5 brown paper bags full.

Please be sure that you are not blocking the residential driveways as you wait to enter our parking lots.

  • Support Our Local Food Banks

We will again be collecting donations to our local food banks during this event. Whether coming by to shred, or simply looking for a way to help out your community, bring your donation during these timeframes, which we'll be delivering to the New Britain Food Pantry and the Newington Food Bank after the event. In Newington, there will be a food bank collection table at each parking lot.

    Why Shred-it?

Identity theft is the fastest growing form of consumer fraud in North America. Community members can protect themselves by regularly destroying confidential and personal documents rather than disposing them in non-secure areas.

    Shred-it recycles all shredded documents!
